Ball - A pitch outside the strike zone.
Base - One of four stations to be reached in turn by the runner.
Base on Balls - An award given to the batter after the pitcher delivers 4 balls. If a hitter receives 4 balls during an at bat, they automatically advance to first base. Any forced base runners also advance. Also called a walk.
Bant - Short hit that is executed by letting the ball hit the bat (not swinging). Used to surprise the fielders or to advance a runner.
